This afternoon was another great party at China Camp with our brothers and sisters of the Terrapin Nation! I really enjoyed the breadth of the setlist: there were plenty of unusual selections, especially in the first set, with Mason's Children being taken at a very brisk pace.

And did I mention the potluck sashimi? OMG! I was in heaven. And I can't believe it lasted all night. There must have been fewer pescatarians in tonight's crowd than usual.

Another treat was Mookie's interpolation of My Favorite Things into the second set's Dark Star: I love surprises like that! The Exodus jam was all too short – long enough to establish itself among the dancers (“movement of jah people!”) without any vocal part from the performers.

The final surprise of the night was Garrett Deloian's substitution for Joe Marcinek over the last two songs of the show. Wow! Talk about cutting loose! The joy that Peter and Garrett evinced on these tunes was a gift that elevated all of us on the dance floor: thanks guys!!
