This being the first Midnight North gig since the passing of Phil Lesh in October, the hometown crowd was in a maudlin mood: lots of hugs and “glad to see ya”'s tonight. I don't think it was a sellout show, but it appeared to me to have sold decently well: the only space for spinners was at the back of the floor!

I thought the performance was really strong: lots of tunes from last year's Diamonds in the Zodiac album, punctuated by older selections and some really choice covers.
