We try and rally early, but don't end up leaving the house until 9:30 or so. Saturday morning traffic is relatively light: just a few slow downs at the usual pinch points, and we arrive in the Excelsior by 10:30 AM. This year I decided to try parking by the pickle ball courts: I figure an uphill walk in the morning and a downhill walk after the show makes for an easy getaway!

Hardly anyone is entering the park along our route, so I'm shocked to enter the bowl and see how crowded it is. Where did all these early birds come from? We end up smashing blanket space on the hill next to the soundboard. It's slightly too step to be comfortable, but beggars can't be choosers, and it seems like the best option available right now.

On the weather front we're definitely benefiting from Jerry Day magic: the fog has burned off completely so we getting the benefit of full sun, but the air still has some fog chill to it as it blows in from the ocean. With the breeze, it's just exactly perfect!
