We get in the VIP line today at about the same time as yesterday, but end up way farther back: many more eager beavers today. Hopefully the entry scramble will unfold easefully and let us again our desired target on the floor! Seems a little hotter today. Good thing we have enough shade to stage off total dehydration!

5:34 PM and we're moving towards the door, getting started 10 min earlier than yesterday is fine by me: less time dehyrdating in this heat! 5:51 PM We're screwed by the scramble (picked the wrong line again!), and so end up third row behind John Dewey instead of next to him. Boo-hoo, eh? Not gonna complain any more than that: dead-center this close up is plenty good!

Once the regular GA folks have started to fill in the floor (around 6:15 PM? I wasn't thoughtful enough to note the time), I decided that it was time to fill up my water bottles and find dinner, and so began my Poke bowl adventure! Level three has a huge merch/bar/food court area, and after locating water dispensers (drinking fountains, but no bottle filling stations, dang!), I sallied up to one of the food places and noted that the first item on the menu was an Ahi Poke Bowl. SOLD! There might have been one or two other palatable choices, but I didn't look any harder after making that snap decision. As there were ecalators leading down to the Level 1 immediately to my right, I figured that would be a good way to get back to the floor, but I was wrong. The down escalator there emptied me out at the main entrance for reserved seating: no floor access. Dang! So it was back up the

7:27 and I'm surrounded by butts. I'm feeling much More excited crowd energy tonight than last night. Maybe folks flying in from afar who couldn't get here last night?

Unfortunately, I couldn't get my journaling focus together in time to write anything coherent about tonight's show vs the previous night. When the repertoire doesn't change all that much, you gotta pay attention to the deep-level details in order to have anything new to say. Zakir as a guest, yeah, that was cool … and my last time seeing him perform, sigh. Another giant, gone to join the ancestors.
