Will seemed to be in a chatty mood tonight, offering commentary on a wide range of topics in between his song introductions.

I thought the groovy jamming was great – particularly as Lisa only began playing with Will in rehearsals earlier this week.

Every now and then I thought I heard hints of Monk tunes from Will or Lisa… Monk's angular melody lines are pretty distinctive! … but nothing was repeated enough that I could identify it or pass it off as an intentional insertion. Could just be the lasting impression of Will's early time in T.J. Kirk.

I suppose we should have stayed around to try and get into the late show – there wasn't much of a line when we got out – but the impetus to get home set in hard as soon as I checked the BART app (“9 minutes 'til the next eastbound train: gotta hustle!”), so we left.
