Crazy busy today: up early in the morning to get ready (how unusual!), grab coffee, attempt to zoom over to SF but get caught up in the usual morning traffic clusterf@#k. I practice deep breathing (instead of cussing out the slowpokes and jerks who double park along thoroughfares) and eventually arrive in the Marina to do some work.

Noon comes and it's time to drive my mom to SFO for her first trip overseas since the pandemic. Once again, traffic is a stop and go nightmare. Nuts! Fortunately, we've budgeted time well, so while it takes about an hour to get there, she's still early for her flight. I drop her off, then fall back into the clutches of the traffic monster. 101 is a nasty mess, but 92 Eastbound is a breeze, and I can zoom along without concern until smashing into the backup at the 880 junction. Ugh!

90 minutes or so after leaving SFO I'm back at home, a new slow record! Just in time to eat a very late lunch and then do a bit of work.

Two hours later we're down in Alameda, sitting in the front row, waiting for tonight's show. Looks like they must have done soundcheck early: the stage looks ready to go but no one's here. Wonder where the green room is…
