[Jeff's keyboard is hauled out nearly as soon as the stage is clear. Dang!]
[Shortly thereafter, a roadie appears with a pedal steel guitar, and Barry Sless walks out to start tuning it up. Hot dog!]

Funny how things work out. Tickets for this run of shows sold out in a flash, and being lunk-heads, both Ting and I forgot to be ready to buy until it was too late. So we signed up on some waiting lists and put the word out that we were interested in getting in and then waited. What else you gonna do?
The end of January rolls around and it looks like we're in for one night, first of the run on Monday the 10th. Sweet! One and done is a lot better than being shut out, right?
And then a strange miracle occurs … I get notified that we've been bumped up from the wait list to CONFIRMED for Saturday at the same time that one of Ting's Facebook friends asks her to buy a pair that she can't use. Well, yeah, OF COURSE WE'LL GO TWICE! If it's worth being there, it's worth being there again, right?
So we put the word out and rally Peter and Carrie to come join the party and yeah, we're all gonna have a real gone time. Tonight's show is completely different from Monday. Certainly much more of a party vibe (hey, it's Saturday night!). I'm not entirely thrilled with notion of guests (more competition for my limited listening attention!), but on the other hand, Bob's voice sounds wrecked – he must have overdone it earlier in the week, or caught a winter bug or something. So right on, guests! And with voice problems, you'd think he'd bring in a singer, but no…. Matt Jaffe is a fine singer, but he barely even sings harmony … just plays a little guitar. And even not much there. Maybe he's not ready for duty with Bob? I'd have liked to hear Barry play a few more songs, but ya takes what ya gets (and then you get to bitch and moan about it to all of your friends).
I might have been bummed if this was the only night of the run for me, but a bonus? Heck yeah, it was a fun time! Let's do it again soon!!
Big thanks to Ting for the photo gallery!
Whoa! This section is incomplete for now, sorry!
