It's hard to go wrong when you're picking source material from the Beatles songbook, and tonight's show was hugely entertaining. It was great fun hearing these tunes reinterpreted via the gypsy jazz idiom. Since most of the tunes were performed as instrumentals, it also made for nice mind game for the listener to correctly identify the tune: I'm proud to say that I got all of them but two: If I Needed Someone threw me off because the hearing the French lyric somehow blocked me from recalling the English original. And Don't Bother Me simply had me stumped – I guess I haven't got those early albums memorized quite as well as I thought!

Comparing against the track list on the new CD, John, Paul, George and Django, it looks to me like they played everything except Yellow Submarine – maybe that got swapped out for And I Love Her? Guess we need to ask Paul about that!
