Marty and his crack band shot out the gate like thoroughbred horses gunning for the roses down the end of the final stretch. My, what a sight to behold! Playing at 11 AM was clearly no problem for these boys! I'd been apprehensive that the set would be too country, but happily, it was heavily loaded towards the rockin' side of things. Heck, they even threw in a couple bits of surf twang! And despite the preference I just stated for hearing that good ole telecaster-based rock-n-roll, I'd have to say that the absolute highlight of the set was Marty's masterful solo mandolin rendition of Orange Blossom Special. Whew!
