Great pool party at Lloyd & Ann's place in San Anselmo with plenty of food and a guitar circle, though the heat (over 100 F!) was a bit much, and kept most of us hiding in the shade. Too bad we had to scoot out early in order to get to SFJAZZ.

Happily, traffic was Sunday evening light, so the drive over the Golden Gate was uneventful, and we secured rock star parking less than a block from the venue. Yay!

Like other summerfest shows, this one didn't seem to have sold all that well – I'd guess that the house was about 70% full – but the crowd was enthusiastic and willing to dance and sing, so we made up in spirit what we might have lacked in number. The sound in the hall was excellent, like usual, and while the sets seemed a little short, the music was certainly rewarding. If VFT introduced the guest percussionist (shown together in the picture below), I must have missed it, so we'll have to leave him unidentified for now. I can say that it wasn't Sikiru, but that doesn't really narrow down the field too much!
