Paul Dresher Electro-Acoustic Band
Parking is surprisingly easy this morning, and I luck upon a 2 hr unmetered spot a few blocks from campus with just enough time to walk to Zellerbach Playhouse and arrive a few minutes before the doors open. Not too many other folks here – maybe 20? – so it seems as if I had no need to rush. Whew!
So after taking out seats inside the theatre, Paul tells us that the plan for the morning is that the band will carry on with rehearsal, stopping to work out any problems as they arise. As it turns out, this means we hear about 30 minutes of repeated takes off two pieces from the set of ten planned for the full program. Kinda interesting, but also kinda trading, since it leaves me wondering how similar (or different) the remaining works are. I wish I could have attended one of the full performances, but my schedule was packed to tight, so this little taste will have to do unless Paul decides to terrorist these works at a future concert.
