Being wedged in on both sides by overweight old guys makes for an additional challenge in enjoying the show. Not impossible, mind you, as Schubert continuously invites the listener to be swept away within his melodies, but more difficult, yes.

Offering an additional challenge is Wosner, as he seems to want to rush things on without pause for rest or reflection. The lights dim. The stage door opens. Shai strides out, acknowledges our applause with a wave, then sits down to play. Similarly, the break between works is also quite brief – perhaps it's his performance rhetoric – but I don't like it. Silence and space contribute to the beauty of music as well as the cascade of melody; to ignore these
