So how well known is this band? When they were announced at the start of the gig, it was silent – not even a peep of recognition from the three tables of friends and family sitting in front of us until the trio actually took the stage a minute later. Very odd!

Saffell displayed good intent, giving us a spirited effort for their part of the night. Musically. the songs were alright, with decent lyrics, but nothing stood out as truly excellent, just good old rock and roll filtered through the personal experience and creativity of señor Sproul.
