Notes

Max Gomez opened the show.

It's fun to see gigs where the musicians enjoy playing with each other, and tonight's set certainly fit THAT bill. To paraphrase their banter, Jim and Buddy are so tight they finish each others sandwiches. While the whole gig was fun, I was especially happy to hear the up-tempo rockers … it just makes me smile extra wide to hear Buddy giving those six strings a good stretching. The end of the set tonight, Joe Tex' I Want to (Do Everything for You) and Jimmy McCracklin's the Wobble were definitely the highlights, though the show-closing Deal was also pretty darn fun!
