Joe Russo's Almost Dead

• Marco Benevento: piano, keyboards, harmony vox;
• Dave Dreiwitz: bass;
• Tom Hamilton: guitar, lead & harmony vox;
• Scott Metzger: guitar, lead & harmony vox;
• Joe Russo: drums, harmony vox.

Around 4:30 or so we jump into line: lots of friendly people there, score! 5 PM gates open and we speed walk down into the amphitheater. Ting ends up in a spot just off the rail in front of Marco. I'd have selected more centered, but the choice wasn't mine to make and this isn't bad at all. Got a mini monitor aimed at my head: can't complain about that!

First set is a rager – no surprise! I was really jazzed for the Dancing jam: spirit of '76 in the house.

Set break is kinda short: working against the early curfew? Hardly enough time to rest the legs or get a fresh drink or take care of business of any sort. Staying put turned out to be a good choice!

Since I thought set one was a ten I guess I need to award set two a 12 or 13: they just turned everything up. More more more! Exhilarating but draining: I'm really glad that we had mandatory chill out time waiting to recharge the Tesla for the ride home. The only thing that would have been better would have been planning ahead and stashing post-show juice boxes in the car: my voice is hoarse from hollering with glee during the show. Yahoo!
