[1:18 PM] {Band onstage and noodling}
Well the weather today wasn't nearly as nice as Tuesday, but for December, it wasn't bad at all … just cool, a little overcast and breezy.
Phil seemed pretty pumped to play again, complimenting the guys after each of the first few tunes.
Jason dropped some really cool filigree licks into Slipknot!, and at one point he and Stu tossed riffs back and forth – very cool, even without a drummer (or two).
I was surprised when Grahame stepped up to sing at the start of Franklin's Tower – it's been a “Phil song” sing the Q days – and even more surprised when the lead passed to Jason for the second verse, Stu for the third, and finally to Phil fourth. It was an interesting switch!
Stu put a lot of heart and soul into So Many Roads; talking with another fan after the show, she mentioned that it brought her to tears.
Box of Rain was a joyful way to wrap things up – a little short of 90 minutes today, but I ain't gonna complain. I got to my happy place!
And traffic both ways was a real breeze – despite the problem of finessing things with work, this early time is really much better than late afternoon: easy drive, nicer weather, I'm sold on it!
Big thanks to Ting for the photo gallery!
Whoa! This section is incomplete for now, sorry!
