[4:08 PM Introduction and announcements from René Mandel & Gray Cathrall]
Achille-Claude Debussy (1862–1918): Sonata for Violin & Piano in G minor, L. 140 (1917)
Béla Viktor János Bartók (1881–1945): Rhapsody No. 1 for Violin and Piano, Sz. 87 (1928)
[5:01 PM performers out]
Johannes Brahms (1833–1897): Piano Trio No. 2 in C Major, Op. 87 (1882)
Arrive ~3:35, plenty of good seats. Ten min later and the crowd has really filled in. Bonus: the early arrival who were crowding me on my left decided to move across the aisle: free space! Bonus elbow room!
Give of, and the room is pretty full now. Scattered empties here and there, including both of my sides: hard to imagine why, except that it's hot, and the seats are crowded together, so I can understand everyone else thinking to maximize personal space (like me!) and the teensy fraction of additional fresh air that will impart on a stuffy afternoon. High 70's outside with a light breeze was just exactly perfect. Gotta be at least 10 degrees hotter in here. Ugh! Happily, the windows are open and the breeze is blowing through now and then. Lost the left empty. Oh well. At least I had time to push the seats about for inches apart before that happened. Gonna be stuck tight i someone wants to squeeze in on the right!
Whoa! This section is incomplete for now, sorry!
