Pretty hot outside today, strange for SF, but nice for a change of pace, even if it made me sweaty walking over from BART in my standard issue black t-shirt. Arrived at SFJAZZ about ten minutes before show time to find the house open, but quite empty – less than half full right now, strange!

Ended up getting a little more crowded, and by the time the show ended, I'd guess the house was about 3/4 full. Happily, they were darn enthusiastic, and the band responded to the applause by digging deeper into the groove. I was definitely dancing in my head by the time they launched into the loping riffs of Mopti, and by the Ramblin' encore I was dancing around for real!

Makes me really glad that I could squeeze this show into my schedule!
