Shoulda been keeping better notes, but I wanted to listen tonight so the setlist above is likely to need some correction! And in that vein, Lavay introduced the band more than once, but I wasn't paying enough attention to verify whether or not Bill Ortiz was the trumpeter. Slackin' on the job again!

It's clear to me that the band was very comfortable with these tunes – and with each other – so that solos got handed off from one performer to the next without any obvious hiccups, and the multipart conversations between the payers were plenty fun to listen to. Heck, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Andrew Gilbert reviewed one of the two Thursday night sets for SFCV, and I echo his conclusion: I should go hear these folks more often!
