Notes

Stu and his buddies played a long set for us today, with lots of sit-ins featuring assorted band members from the first two acts. Having Ron Holloway and Melvin Seals guest on the Race Is On seemed kind of strange as far as song selection goes, but they both added interesting contributions, and despite my initial misgivings, I was sad to see them leave so soon. The following tune, It Must Have Been the Roses, also seemed like a strange choice for a guest sit-in, in this case by Cheryl and Shirley, singing harmony vox. Again, it worked. Guess I shouldn't carry so much baggage about what makes a decent setlist!

So, uh, what else do I have to say about Stu's set? Well, the weather wasn't as cold and fight as some past years, that was a really big plus! And the guys played for a darn long time, that's for sure! Probably the best thing would be for you to listen and decide for yourself. Thanks to Jon Hart, you can do that! Just visit the Live Music Archive, hit play, and crank up your volume.
