[Craig was already playing when I walked in about 7:45 PM, so I took the lazy way out and skipped any sort of serious setlist. Seemed to me like he mostly played originals. 'Raising Hell with the Hippies and the Cowboys', Heavens to Betsy, and a Woody Guthrie cover I Ain't Got No Home were all in there somewhere]

Tonight's Rock Collection gig is perfectly suited to my mood: words fail me, but I'm captivated, and the greedy kid inside tries to get me to buy tickets to tomorrow night's show too. Hard to resist that voice sometimes, but this time around, moderation prevails: gotta have an off night every now and then, no?
So anyways, I'm totally psyched about this show, even if they manage to mystify me on half of the tune choices. I gotta quiz Lebo or Jon Hart about those titles next time we get together… they're just a little too convenient.
Moving on, I'm pretty sure that this was the first time I've heard Years to Come; apparently Robert Hunter wrote it awhile ago, and Greg set it to music, but as far as I know, it hasn't been officially released anywhere yet. It was interesting … kinda wordy in a Dylanesque, spit-them-all-out-as-soon-as-possible way. I wouldn't mind hearing it again… and now after waiting a few weeks, that's possible, with thanks to Jon Hart, who posted a stereo mixdown from his multitrack masters to the Live Music Archive.
