Dang, what a show! Anoushka and her band have put together a tour de force of emotion, sharing music that pours out with love and empathy for the downtrodden. I suppose I could quibble how the non-traditional elements have crowded out her marvelous sitar playing, but really, there was still plenty of sitar, and the addition of pedal effects allowed her to play with an expanded sound palette. Cool!

I probably could have done a better job with the setlist – I'm not sure I have the untitled entries in the correct order – but really, does it matter all that much? Much more important to be listening, deeply present to the moment of creation – to receive the sacred communication conjured from the wizards onstage.
