Johannes Brahms (1833-1897): Prelude & Fugue in A minor, WoO 9 (1856)
César Franck (1822-1890): Grande Pièce Symphonique, FWV 29, Op. 17 (1862), from Six Pièces pour Grand Orgue
David Titterington made his San Francisco debut this afternoon, showing his prodigious talent in a variety of organ showpieces. I thought it was a good program, though the Sally Beamish premiere didn't really fit in stylistically with the other, older pieces. Sadly, the hall seemed to be only half full this afternoon – I guess classical organ isn't a very popular musical genre these days.
Stephen Smoliar posted a review of the show for the Examiner.
