[9:31 PM lights down, announcements from Randall Kline]
Dang, thought I had my Tasker time-script running on the smartphone, but noticed at the end of the show that it was off, so my notes above lack the specificity that I've been getting of late. Oh well, can't do much about it after the fact, and probably wasn't all that accurate anyway, given the band's penchant for segueing from one tune to another.
Anyways, it was another great show tonight! Chris Wood was laying down the funky groove all night long, while Martin bopped, Medeski burbled and Scofield scratched and sqwaunked along, coming together to create a joyful noise. Might have been more appropriate to see the band in a more freak-dance-friendly environment (TXR? One can dream!) than Miner Aud, but sometimes ya gotta takes whatcha get.
Presumably a bunch of the tunes came from the new MMW+S album, Juice, but they didn't mention any song titles (or even the album, for that matter), so I can't really say until I find information from someone better informed than I!
Eric Podolsky posted a review of the early show for JamBase (with plenty of good photos) that popped up on the SFJAZZ tumblr.
