Arrive early and snag a parking spot on Yacht Club, then settle down to wait. The line is chill for now, so I head off to Starbucks for a walk and a caffeine break. Getting a giant mocha seems smart when I order, but sitting outside two hours later with a full bladder? – not so awesome.

2:30 PM VIP line heads inside from the back entrance; it's tough watching them stream in!

2:38 PM Walking Spanish let's it rip. Dang! We're still waiting with the rest of the proles in line out front. Moments later, they decide it's OK to begin processing us, hooray! We get checked in, stamped, banded and released to rush inside. Happily, there are still plenty of choice spots available, and we find ours to stake out a claim by 2:40 PM. Perfect! Dead center, just behind the front row. Couldn't ask for anything better. Except maybe a table and chair to enjoy brunch. Or permission to sit on the floor (as space permits, of course!).
