Another night of quality entertainment from Melvin and the band. As at other shows by this group from the past couple years, I was completely bowled over by how happy it made me to hear this repertoire performed with such vigor and gusto. Guess I'll have to try harder to fit these guys into our schedule more often.

On the bitch and moan side of the equation, I was kind of surprised how short the second set was – under an hour and no encore? – and I also wish Melvin had taken time to introduce the band – particularly new bass player comes from Santa Cruz. Likewise, I was hoping to verify the ID of the two backup singers, as they seem to change from time to time. Oh well. Sometime you gotta settle for ignorance!
