| This unusual program
of Music for the Spirit will be performed in collaboration
with the San Francisco Chamber Singers. We present Schnittke's
brooding Hymns featuring cellist Stephen Harrison surrounded
by a phalanx of tympani, harpsichord, bassoon, bells, harp, and bass.
Also, Shostakovich's Sonata for Viola and Piano, and Melissa Hui's
choral evocation of a rustic chapel on the Mediterranean coast. |
