Like most Sundays,
we had a lazy morning, followed by our regular Hankido in the afternoon.
After workout we drove over to Le Bateau Ivre (the Drunken Boat) on Telegraph
for a nice dinner before tonight's info-tainment, the open rehearsal and discussion
of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra's "Under Construction" series.
Tonight's event was held at St. John's Presbyterian Church on College
Avenue. Listening to the conductors, George Thomson and Kent Nagano, as
they led the Symphony through tonight's works was quite interesting.
The event was made all the more memorable by the appearance of composer
David Sheinfeld, whose Worlds of Sound was being excerpted in tonight's
performance, in preparation for it's premier next fall.
The press release from the BSO gives a little
more info about the program in case you're interested.
