It is our first Hankido
Promotional Ceremony! We took our white-belt promotional tests earlier this
month and this is the ceremony where they award us our belts. I was able
to take a picture of Randy being promoted to Yellow Belt because I was promoted
to Upper Yellow, so I came after him. It helped that I was already a Black-Belt
in Taekwondo as it gave me the advantage of knowing a part of the "material"
very well to allow me to concentrate on the techniques that are unique to
Hankido.
There was no Hankido black-belt dinner since black-belt dinners were replaced
by the Martial Arts Banquet in the spring, so Lisa suggested that we go to
Barneys. I was honored that she invited me and Randy even though we were
lowly white... no, yellow-belts. Trek came along since we were originally
planning to go to dinner with him before we were usurped by Lisa. But we
found out the reason Lisa really wanted us to come along was so she could
show off the splendid colors of the chewed food on her tongue - Eeewww! We
love Lisa even if she grosses us out sometimes! :-)
